It was only a matter of time.
Too many pie in the sky rosy prognostications that many local governments blind relied upon.
Now Redlands-based economist John Husing has finally taken it on the chin for over estimating the economic impact of a Moreno Valley industrial development.
The article, published in Sunday’s edition of the Press-Enterprise, hammers at Husing for predicting a warehouse project would generate 20,000 direct jobs and another 8,000 indirect jobs.
Really! In warehousing?
Husing’s analysis cost Moreno Valley $15,000.
A few months ago, at a speaking engagement, Husing told an audience that “He wasn’t used to being Dr. Doom”.
Dr. Doom? The same man who told local governments in 2007 that the economy would be fine?
InlandPolitics.com has been critical of Husing’s past forecasts.
It’s interesting to see Husing’s assumptions challenged by others in the field.

He’s always been an “economist” to the highest bidder. Just write the talking points on a check with enough zeros and he’ll say whatever allows him to cash it.

The same day the employees met the new City Manager Gregory “Peckory” Devilreaux back in the late ’90′s, we were introduced to John “Synergy” Husing and his loony prognostications. The only synergy going on there is Husing’s brown-nose being attracted to Devilreaux’s rear, and that fat wallet of taxpayer money that Greg gives Johnny on the Spot to spread his bogus information.
MoVal CM Henry learned everything he knows from Devilreaux’s supposed leadership seminar: “How to take over a City or County as Dictator, in 6 months or less.”, so it’s only natural he would hire Redlands-based sell-out Husing and his sidekick from the U of R Green Tim… that presentation on Ch3 makes me want to puke green slime!

Everyone in Redlands knows John Husing is a quack. Moreno Valley is NOT that far away, and all they had to do was ASK! They should have come by to Redands and had a cup of coffee with us business locals, we would have warned them.
