A May surprise has popped up in the race to decide who will represent San Bernardino County’s Third Supervisorial District.
Mail from the San Bernardino County Public Attorneys Association started showing up in District voter mailboxes Tuesday.
A surprise to many who thought the group, which represents Deputy District Attorneys, Deputy Public Defenders and Child Support Attorneys, was staying out of the race.
Who is the mail supporting?
The answer is County Supervisor Neil Derry.
Derry, who is being challenged by Former San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Chairman James Ramos and Department of Defense employee James Bagley, received the support of the Association four years ago, when he ousted five-term incumbent Dennis Hansberger.

It’s unknown as to what level of assistance the Attorney’s group has committed.
Prior to the Attorneys Association weighing in, Derry had already garnered the support of he San Bernardino Police Officer’s Association. San Bernardino City Firefighter’s, San Bernardino County Professional Firefighter’s, Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, California Republican Assembly and the San Bernardino County Republican Party.

The campaign donation is $ 100,000.
That’s great news and well deserved. I live in the 3rd District and support Derry 100%
To the San Bernardino County Public Attorneys Association, representing
Deputy District Attorneys, Deputy Public Defenders and Child Support Attorneys:
A big THANK YOU to all you wonderful individuals who saw right through the hypocrisy of James Ramos candidacy, and had the courage to stand up for what is best for the the Third District, and for our county as a whole!
This endorsement alone has renewed our faith that not all is lost and corrupt in San Bernardino County, and MOST IMPORTANT it is a reminder of the responsibility we all have to speak out for what is right, and act when called upon- as these individuals have!
VERY nice everyone, thank you!!!!
Administrator:
I am confused. There is a political union with lawyers from both the district attorney’s office and the public defenders office? That is weird.
Also, is it unusual for district attorneys that work for THE district attorney to endorse someone opposite of their boss? It seems odd that District Attorney Mike Ramos would endorse James Ramos while the guys working for DA Ramos endorse Neil Derry.
Can you explain what is going on here?
Easy, Derry has supported them while DA Ramos has sold them out to the CEO. And, Derry supported removing the former Public Defender, who was also “possibly” screwing the DA, from her position because she was running a mini Gestapo against her own employees. Derry stood up for fair labor negotiations with them, while the CEO lied to them.
Ramos wasn’t the only guy Boxer was screwing…when she and her Gestapo assistant weren’t screwing the employees they were both trolling the bars for conquests..that’s why we support Derry. He saw throught the evil twins and got rid of them.
I’m Confused:
Three classes of county attorneys are consolidated into two bargaining units represented by the San Bernardino County Public Attorneys Association. The reason is the classifications have commonality for collective bargaining and legal representation purposes.
Yes, it may seem strange having prosecutors and public defenders in the same union.
@Bob,
Correct, and while Ramos was wallowing in the sewer with Boxer, Cortes, and others, he was also quite “connected” with a woman from the FPPC, I believe a friend of, and introduced by, no other than Brulte himself.
I can’t recall her last name, I’ll make a few calls and get back to this blog with it, being that J. Ramos was just recently cleared by the FPPC, THIS IS NO LONGER A WOMAN AND CONNECTION THAT COULD BE IGNORED- SHE HAS BEEN KNOWN TO HARASS OTHERS, THROUGH HER POSITION AT THE FPPC, WHO GO AGAINST MIKE RAMOS…AND WE ALL KNOW HOW MIKE RAMOS “REWARDS” MAYBE IT’S TIME THESE “REWARDS” COME BACK TO HAUNT THESE WOMAN—LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO CORTES…ANYONE HEARD FROM HER? THAT’S RIGHT!
@Anonymous:
You are on to something. It was Brulte who got Boxer the job here in San Bernardino. Any guesses why that happened?
What happened to the Sheriffs Union endorsement?
So now we know why Brulte escaped the Colonies scrutiny at the local level.
Did SEBA endorse the indian chief casinoboss?
I think SEBA is still sitting on the fence on who to endorse right now.
Someone just told me they gave Mike Ramos and Rod Hoops $10k each for their campaign funds if that means anything to anyone.
Since SEBA is the one who pushed the part time BOS iniative, I’d hate to see them throw in money to any candidate since they spent millions getting more than a few on the BOS in the last decade, only to turn around and do this.
SEBA has a few legal issues to attend to that strongly suggest their political and labor agenda is tainted with corruption.
Their see no evil hear no evil approach to everything is slowly starting to come bact to haunt them. Some finally realized not everyone is asleep at the wheel.
SBPCAA has set a CLEAR tone in the last couple years. Their lawsuit taking Boxer and Stringer to task speaks for itself.
Enough members came together to take these two tyrants on, and they won their case with little difficulty.
SBPCAA is to be respected for doing the right thing and not buckling to the pressure of the corrupt ones.
And we know who they are.
“Someone just told me they gave Mike Ramos and Rod Hoops $10k each for their campaign funds if that means anything to anyone.”
Means THEY ARE COVERING THEIR ASS, LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO DERRY!
“Their see no evil hear no evil approach to everything is slowly starting to come bact to haunt them. Some finally realized not everyone is asleep at the wheel.”
Interesting statement, maybe a little HAUNTING will wake up the right people to step up to the plate.
@16 anonymous, someone said Hoops is putting pressure on SEBA, but the specifics were not mentioned.
Hoops “pressure” has been weakened, even laughable to a great many…not openly because Hoops can kill careers and destroy reputations, but that influence of his will also soon be weakened.
This is a good time to be firm and ignore Hoops’ “pressure” just as the San Bernardino County Public Attorneys Association ignored Mike Ramos’ “pressure.”
