Former San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Chairman James Ramos

View: Complaint
A complaint has been filed against San Bernardino County supervisor candidate and former San Manuel tribal chairman James Ramos, alleging that he failed to report his income and real property interests on state campaign disclosure forms.
The complaint, dated April 3 and received by the state Fair Political Practices Commission on April 12, alleges that Ramos failed to report on his form 700 Statement of Economic Interest a house he owns in Big Bear Lake and shares of stock in Pfizer Inc., a pharmaceutical company, and General Electric Co.
Ramos is also alleged to have failed to report his income as former chairman of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians while serving on the San Bernardino Community College District’s board of trustees. In addition, he is alleged to have not reported any income from his monthly tribal stipend, any ownership interest in the tribe’s affiliated holdings and any income or losses from his businesses, Yum Yum Restaurant and Pepito’s Restaurant, both in San Bernardino.
The FPPC typically decides within 14 days of receiving a complaint if it will investigate. As of Monday, a decision had not yet been made, said Tara Stock, legislative coordinator for the FPPC.
Ramos’ attorney Diane Fishburn said Monday that she has submitted a response to the complaint and that the FPPC should reach its decision by the end of the week.
Ramos has served on the college district’s board of trustees since 2005. He was appointed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2008 to the state Native American Heritage Commission, and also serves on the state Board of Education.
He said he has always abided by the letter of the law when filing his 700 forms.
“We have been totally compliant with the law. I’m confident we did everything correctly,” Ramos said, adding that his attorney vets the forms before they are filed to ensure full disclosure. “This is just another way for my opponent to throw something out there to see if anything sticks.”
Ramos is vying for the county’s 3rd District supervisorial seat held since 2008 by Neil Derry, who says Ramos is subject to the same reporting requirements as everyone else.
“The 700 form is a very clear document, and it states very clearly what needs to be reported,” Derry. said. “I think the public deserves to know where politicians derive their income.”

After reading what Fishburn said in the memo it is very obvious she does NOT UNDERSTAND the document.
As Groucho Marx once said, “A child of five would understand this. Send
someone to fetch a child of five.”
How come DA RAmos hasnt arrested this crook likje he did his opponent? HMMMMMMMMMMMM????????
This faT SLOB mexican croook belongs in jail.
FBI needs to get involved in this case since Ramos will probably claim his sovereign nation is exempt. Let’s see where this goes.
According to the article, James Ramos said that “his attorney vets the forms before they are filed.”
I predict that Mr. Ramos will use the “vetting” of documents as an excuse if charged with any wrongdoing, just as the FBI did when they got caught lying about searching Jeff Burum’s office, and the DA’s office is currently doing to avoid having to provide accurate and complete evidence to Mr. Burum’s attorney.
Ouch… now we will see just how cozy the Ramos Bros. are with Governator Moonbeam and the supposed “watchdog” agency, the FPPC!
How does DA Mikey like Life (not cereal) now?
James Ramos is “confident” that he filled out the forms “correctly.” However, if you review the forms included in the complaint, you will clearly see that he did not report the dates he acquired the G.E. or Pfizer stock.
This is either blatant defiance or blatant stupidity. Either way, it’s not a character trait that a Board of Supervisor member should exhibit.
As predicted above, Mr. Ramos will probably blame somebody else.
I also predict that there will be minimal action taken by the FPPC, such as a miniscule fine and a request to revise the forms.
However, if it was Neil Derry, the AG would already be on the way to the courthouse to file felony charges for perjury.
Poor poor Derry everybody’s got it in for him. You’d think the attorney general of California would have something better to do then to waste their time on a peon like Derry, but this just shows how deep and broad in scope this conspiracy to get the one last honest man in San Bernadino County is, it’s just frightening.
I am Mexican descent, James Ramos is Native American. Please refrain from comments like ‘Deporting this Mexican.’
Status as a USA citizen precludes deportation.
I respect that folks have strong opinions about immigration policy or lack of, but hate speech which promotes deporting USA citizens is just wrong.
No excuses now, here, AGAIN, the Third District has received a freighting WARNING of what is to come is we don’t defend ourselves against dangerous men like Ramos, and his backers.
Ramos has given us another REAL LIFE incident of how he will NOT be loyal to our laws, policies and regulation, because Ramos feels HE is an exception, and HE DOES NOT HAVE TO ABIDE BY THE LAWS AMERICANS DO.
Ramos has thumbed his nose at the United States AND MADE CLEAR THAT HE WILL NOT “pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice …”
Repairman:
Your comment # 7 is clearly sarcastic, but you are actually right on the money.
Do a little research and you will find that the alleged actions of Neil Derry warranted, at the worst, a FPPC fine. However, Mike Ramos got the Attorney General to file felony charges.
You are correct, the AG has “something better to do” than waste their time (and the taxpayers money) on a politically motivated prosecution of a county supervisor for an alleged incident that warranted a fine.
However, and unfortunately, that’s not how it works in California.
When the time comes to consider felony perjury charges against James Ramos, this time the AG will have “something better to do.”
Ramos said, “his attorney vets the forms before they are filed.”
YES, THE ATTORNEY ABSOLUTELY DID “VET” THE FORMS…AND SHE CONSPIRED TO HELP KEEP HIM FROM HAVING TO DISCLOSE HIS FINANCIAL INFORMATION.
Knowing full well of James Ramos’ illegal “business” activities on the Reservation and how his “businesses” off the Reservation are only “fronts”, she suggested that James Ramos NOT fill out the form because it will shed light on too much that may have consequences for him, and besides, she told him, “no one really pays attention anyway”
If later, if ever, questioned, she instructed him to just play “ignorant.” (PLAY?)
Further, his attorney stated that there was no need to disclose, and bring attention to his “unclean” businesses, and “interests” especially if he did not make it past the primaries.
THEY ROLLED THE DICE…THEY GOT CAUGHT!
IT SHOULD NOT BE CHUCKLED OFF!!
It is very diffult for the average person to understand all of the election laws. However, it is very easy for the average person to understand that these laws are not evenly enforced.
The common denominator in all of these decisions is the individual’s relationship with Mike Ramos. Mike Ramos has become a political kingpin in our county. Mike Ramos is the one that should be investigated. His entire career appears to be an ongoing criminal enterprise.
Mike Ramos a “political Kingpin” HAHAHA
Don’t give him THAT much credit, DA MIKE RAMOS IS SLOWLY BEING EXPOSED AS THE “BIG ZERO” HE IS.
Yes, Ramos sure “punked” SBC.
As we speak, those around him are talking, or rather “whispering” to all the appropriate agencies. Ramos is a walking disease.
Repairman has become an empty suited spokesman for James Ramos. He’s so left he is about to run off the road.
Repairman sounds more like a Dave Ellis or Dennis Hanburger everyday.
He is like an old radio, one channel, low volumn, same song.
This is a nothing story. Let’s get on to more important topics like Grennel quitting the Romney campaign.
Did you hear that?
It’s the sound of Jerry Brown and Kamala Harris disassociating themselves from Mike Ramos as quickly as possible.
Given how the prosecution has proceeded, it’s hard to imagine that Jerry Brown does not regret standing next to Mike Ramos at the press conference and announcing “the most appalling corruption case in decades, certainly in the history of San Bernardino County and maybe California itself.”
It’s also hard to imagine that Kamala Harris does not regret filing felony charges against Neil Derry. If she does not take a similar hard line against James Ramos, she is going to have a lot of explaining to do.
Kamala Harris is ALSO AN EMPTY SUIT. One could even say she is a “James Ramos” put in office as a front, while others are at the control panels.
AntiCorruptionUnit:
Thank you, coming from you that means a lot.
Ah, so Repairman has seen the light?
Wonder when the AG will file 6 felony and 3 misdemeanor charges against Ramos?
Ramos is a crook. A big fat crook. Totally unfit for any office.
Anonymous:
Your right I have . Now I would like to know why you would ever vote for someone that has been proven to be a liar and cheat? Someone who had to turn themselves into law enforcement or be arrested? Why would you give someone like that another chance? Because he was smart enough to plea bargain away the felony charges?

Here is the link to an article that will refresh every ones memory as to the true events revolving around Derry’s legal problems. They are not as clean and tidy as some of you pretend they are and betray a serious flaw with his political decision making.
Repairman your welcome. I am always willing to point out the obvious. I’d be happy to do it in person too.
What you and a few others have failed to see or comment on is ALL the other issues that are floating around that suggest DA Mike Ramos is simply doing his job and fighting corruption.LMAO!!!
I know you read the other blogs, so there are other cases out there that CLEARLY suggest political prosecutions or selective ones are taking place.
Maybe I missed one of your compelling comments when the fact Mr.Green the Native American from San Manuel charges of DOMESTIC violence were dismissed recently by the DA’s office, but a deputy sheriff was twice tried for allededly shaking Mr.Green down on another matter? As you know both trials resulted in a hung jury. Hmmm how much did all that cost the taxpayers.
Sorry that case has James Ramos and his pals Mike Ramos,Rod Hoops fingerprints all over it.
Put that case and all the others together, the smell of corruption within the DA’s office is overwhelming at this point.
But all you have done is pop off about the Derry case and the Colonies case. Typical of a political hack who has an agenda and can ONLY focus on one issue to try and win an argument.
It’s obvious your someones “water boy”, your not a concerned citizen wanting a better system who LOOKS outside the box.
As long as James Ramos runs with Mike Ramos and Rod Hoops, those of us who know the system which is alot better than YOU do, will laugh at guys like you. But if you do work within the County system, then the arguments you make, would suggest YOU might be a crook too.
YES, if I was Neil Derry I would have fought the charges like no other, and let a jury of 12 decide my fate. A serious mistake. BUT not the end of the world when all these other issues are coming forth.
It’s funny how at least 3 deputy sheriffs and one 18 year old citizen has fought the charges against them in the last year or so, resulting in 3 acquittals and one hung jury. COMMON folks fought and won. And the jury verdicts came back in SHORT order.
NO BRAGGING rights for the DA there. ALL the cases suggest SOME corruption was afoot.
We just had a member of County Council caught red handed passing forged and fabricated documents in a civil service hearing.
So far I haven’t heard the DA’s PIU unit knocking on the victims door to get the facts of all that. And NO they don’t need a formal complaint to start an investigation. Cops start investigations on anonymous tips EVERYDAY!!!
Funny how we don’t hear James Ramos making ANY comments about ALL of the corruption and scandals coming forth. THATS because his pals are the center of attention.
The best we hear is WE NEED to work together and communicate as one from James Ramos. WOW what a novel concept.
That crap doesn’t even qualifie as a good glass of “kool-aid”.
You want to call Derry a crook because of his conviction FINE, don’t suggest by your commentary that James Ramos is the PILLAR of ethics by sidestepping the other issues either.
Now go get a bucket of water and carry on Repariman!!!!
AntiCorruptionUnit:
What exactly has Ramos been arrested for?
It’s always someone Else’s fault isn’t it?
AntiCorruptionUnit:
Why do you think Derry would stand up for his constituents, when he couldn’t even be bothered to stand up for his own name against charges that were false? It should have been easy to prove weather he laundered that contribution or not. The reason he didn’t fight was to avoid being convicted of felony charges.
Repairman, your idea of if someone isnt’arrested or convicted they have NO ISSUES is laughable.
I would not vote for James Ramos for the simple fact it would give Mike Ramos and Rod Hoops ANOTHER vote in their favor on the BOS. Those two clowns decision making has cost the taxpayers millions ALL by itself.
So YES let’s give them another vote in their favor so they can continue to operate with IMPUNITY!!!
James FAILURE to comment on ANY of the scandals in SB County speaks for itself. But since your his “water boy” feel free to jump in there.
So I am going to allow that to continue by voting for James Ramos? NOT a chance. YOU have ignored the fact the Derry wanted to cut the DA and Court budget and what SEEM to happen shortly after that.
Do YOU WISH to be STUPID enough to tell me RETALIATION IS NOT part of the problem in the County too?
YOU could not see the bigger picture if your life depended on it pal.
So here is what I ask you.
What job do you have promised to you if James Ramos wins?
1.Head of Security?
2.Chief of maintanence?
3 Chief of staff?
4.Head limo driver?
Laughable AGAIN, James Ramos has a bunch of BODYGUARDS around him 24/7 and you comment about TAKING care of ONES SELF???
WHY does Ramos need bodyguards? Is it because he is fighting corruption within the reservation with the MEXICAN MAFIA, or is it because he SCREWED to many people, and is in fear of getting WHACKED?
A man of esteem character you promote such as James should not need bodyguards 24/7. A giving honest man that is no where near as corrupt as Neil Derry, OKAY!!!!
NOW tell me Repairman how many other officials running for public office NEED a bunch of bodygaurds?
I see you AGAIN bypassed the other issue I commented about.
Let me know I’ll buy you a 10 gallon water bucket. Next in line is a water tanker.
I’d have more fun with YOU if I knew your name. Then I could go to my sources and dig up whatever BAGGAGE you might really have.
I am really impressed by you political supporters who throw darts from behind the computer.
Repairman- you are a broken record, you bore us! If you can not RETAIN the exact same response ACU gave you 100 times to your same questions, then PRINT THE DAMN THING OUT AND NAIL IT TO YOUR *@%&! FOREHEAD!
We do not have to see things YOUR way or agree with you, nor you with us, it’s old news that has been chewed and spit out here enough.
Repairman, let Mike Ramos charge James Ramos with his form 700 violations as felonies, ie “penalty of perjury” then reduce them to misdemeanors.
If that happens, I will go away from this blog forever.
I bet I’ll be right here a couple years from now.
Don’t play stupid with cops who have played this game with others and have a ton of experience in charging crimes and doing investigations. YOU will lose EVERYTIME!!!
AntiCorruptionUnit:
And if he isn’t charged it will all be a fix won’t it ?
By the way if you want people to stop playing stupid with cops (I guess that means you, and are trying another attempt at intimidation) then quit playing the stupid cop.
And if you want my name and number you can start by giving me yours but you won’t your too busy behind your computer screen trying to put lip stick on a pig. What has your old boss promised you?
JUST ask the Administrator of this blog for my name and phone number. He has my permission to give it to you.
IF you think I am stupid, then make the call and find out. Hiding behind the computer, afraid, YOU must have me mistaken for someone else.
NOW meet the challenge Repairman. This pig has NO LIPSTICK on his face. That would further prove you don’t know what your talking about.
I await your call!!
Jim, just make sure that repairman has a real name and email PLEASE!!!!
Administrator:
Whats his name and number?
Hey Repairman, why don’t you make your request via email to the Administrator.
Do you think he is going to plaster it all over the internet? WAKE UP!!
Didn’t know you were ashamed of your name or your postings , anyway gotta go, we’ll chat again.
P.S. I’m glad about your pig.
ACU,
WTF? why are you bothering with Repairman?
Let him blog to himself, we’re over him and his broken record!
Who cares who he is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anonymous:
Thank you for reading my posts.
Repairman, you got “Punked”!
LOL
Rancho business owner:
How’s that?
Anonymous was able to muzzle his boy before he to helped any more. Personally I’d love to hear more about his pig.
HA HA HA HA , What happened to all you political experts? My what a difference a day makes. Ramos cleared! Derry’s days as supervisor are dwindling down to just a small handful. HA HA HA HA.
