Pomierski
Thursday, April 26, 2012 – 11:45 a.m.
Former Upland Mayor John “J.P.” Pomierski entered into a plea agreement before Federal Judge Virginia Philips in U.S. District Court in Riverside on Thursday morning.
The plea agreement stems from charges related to influence peddling.
Under federal sentencing guidelines, the agreement will obligate Pomierski to likely serve 27 to 33 months in-custody.

And he will come back to society bitter that he had to go to prison for his crimes.
Who knows, maybe he will spill his guts about corruption and then the feds will give him less time.
Bob….that would be lovely. One way to measure the seriousness of this issue is to measure the volume of traffic on this blog site. If this is not a serious issue then we will see a lot of people talking smack by this evening. If this doesn’t get a lot of comments it will be because people are too busy having meetings with each other to verify alibis and maybe even getting bags packed for a quick trip across the border. If anyone does cross the border just remember to try the water there, I hear it’s really good.
The plea agreement makes compelling reading.
I don’t know too much about how to structure bribery, but it seems to me that texting the bagman and asking where the bribe money is constitutes extremely poor form.
A few months back his personal attorney Robert Schauer said that JP’s case is getting stronger. I dismissed that as rhetoric from a career blowhard, and it looks like I was right.
Pretty anti-climatic
Well, they say…If you cut the head off…
