A lawsuit filed by an Upland lawyer to force San Bernardino County to recover $102 million it paid Colonies Partners L.P., in a 2006 settlement over a flood control land use dispute, appears to have hit a snag.

Attorney Corey Briggs, who is representing a group calling itself The Inland Oversight Committee, has filed an amended lawsuit in San Bernardino Superior Court on today, according to an online court docket.

The move comes after Colonies Partners intervened in the action by filing a demurrer challenging the validity of Brigg’s lawsuit on March 28.

The Colonies request for dismissal was set to be ruled on Tuesday.

Briggs latest maneuver keeps the case alive for the time being.
