Republican Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum says that residents of Puerto Rico should speak English if the U.S. possession wants to become a state.

Boy he really wanted those votes!

Santorum made his remarks just days before the territory held its republican primary. And whether right or wrong it was a huge blunder for the birth control-abortion candidate.

Well now it looks as if Puerto Rico voters are telling Santorum what they think about him.

With some fifty-seven percent of the vote in Sunday evening. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is leading Santorum by a heavy margin.

Candidate Votes Percentage
Mitt Romney 66,667 83 %
Rick Santorum 6,197 8 %
Newt Gingrich 1,604 2 %
Ron Paul 904 1 %

Romney picks up all 20 GOP convention delegates in the winner-take-all primary and widens his already wide lead over the other contenders.

Next up: The State of Illinois Primary on Tuesday.
