COLTON – Months of uncertainty and disagreement ended Monday, after the teachers union voted overwhelmingly to accept a new contract.

Ballots were counted Monday after a three-day vote that included nearly two-thirds of the members.

Of those, 96 percent voted yes.

“We’re happy it’s over,” said Karen Houck, president of the Association of Colton Educators.
