San Bernardino County is renewing its contract with a Sacramento lobbyist.

The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to extend its contract with Platinum Advisors for three years at a cost of $655,200.

The firm has represented the county since 2003 but came under scrutiny during its last contract renewal in 2007 when two supervisors opposed the deal due to questions about a possible conflict of interest by one of the firm’s obbyists.

Brett Granlund, a former Republican assemblyman for the firm, encouraged the county’s purchase of a jail in Adelanto without disclosing that he also represented the jail owner, an inquiry found.
