Sometimes you have to count to four.

At least if you want to pass appropriation adjustments through the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors.

Yes, the apple cart was been turned over at Tranquility Base this week, when first quarter budget adjustments failed to make it through the board.

The measure received a 3-2 vote last Tuesday. A tally one vote short.

Supervisors Josie Gonzales, Gary Ovitt, and Janice Rutherford voted in favor, while Supervisor Neil Derry abstained and Brad Mitzelfelt voted against.

It was the first time in memory that a mid-year budget adjustment failed passage.

And now all the crying and press manipulation is likely in play.

Though it’ll be interesting to see how many four-vote items garner passage in the upcoming months.

So much for that voting block.
