In a speech this morning, President Barack Obama said “I would love nothing more than to not be campaigning right now”.

In actuality, the President shouldn’t be running for reelection.

It’s clear the partisan gridlock is all about defeating Obama in 2012. A question voters will ultimately decide.

And believe me they will.

It’s time that both democrats and republicans agree to work with the President to take steps to move the country and economy forward. And in exchange, the President should agree not to run for a second term.

The situation with the deteriorating economy is critical, and irreparable damage is 0ccurring. And at the same time Republicans appear to be savoring the train wreck and its undoing of the President.

For better or worse, he’s our President.

However, all sides need to see what’s happening to America. It’s not a pretty situation.

Most people can’t remember a time such as this.

It’s true!

Few Great Depression survivors are still around, and the worst economic period since then is the early 1970’s.

However, today’s events are rapidly eclipsing the latter.

Our leaders need to put the nation and its citizens first by taking the necessary hard steps to stop the increase in poverty and despair spreading throughout the country like a cancer eating away at its victim.

The decline of the standard of living in the United States is slowly accelerating. Even a blind man can see it.

One only need ask themselves one question.

Is partisan politics really worth the undoing of a nation?

Things need to change and soon.
