San Bernardino City Unified’s school board will consider a proposal today by Interim Superintendent Richard Bray to reorganize the district office.

The first phase would move all instructional programs — curriculum, special education, student support, student services and school-improvement grant administration — into one division headed by Assistant Superintendent Eliseo Davalos.

Davalos would become deputy superintendent/chief academic officer and be assisted by Kennon Mitchell, the assistant superintendent of student services. Administrator and director positions would be changed, according to a staff report.

It was not clear whether Davalos would get a raise. “At this point it is just a title change,” district spokeswoman Linda Bardere said.
