Riverside County has settled for almost $500,000 its portion of a 2009 lawsuit filed against the county and then-District Attorney Rod Pacheco by a former high-ranking prosecutor, it was announced late today.

The county agreed to settle the matter with former chief deputy district attorney Eileen Hunt for $496,500.

Attorneys for Hunt said in a statement the agreement was approved by the Board of Supervisors on Aug. 16 and finalized today. Among other things, Hunt alleged retaliation by Pacheco because she refused to support his 2010 re-election bid.
