It was just announced that State Assemblyman and Tea Party loyalist Tim Donnelly (R-Twin Peaks) has thrown his support behind San Bernardino County Third District Supervisor Neil Derry.

Derry, who is seeking reelection to his second four-year term, is being challenged by San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Chairman James Ramos.

Ramos, a democrat, who is backed by Congressman Jerry Lewis, former Supervisor Dennis Hansberger, and the Redlands ‘Old Guard’, has been struggling to secure area endorsements beyond his democratic base.

The Redlands republicans being the only exception.

Sources say Ramos, who has facilitated his gaming tribe into giving millions to local community groups and politicians, has been baffled by the lack of return for the money.

Donnelly represents California’s 59th Assembly District.

Derry is expected to announce further endorsements later in the week.
