The long-awaited results of a federal investigation into alleged misconduct at San Bernardino County-owned and operated Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is nearing, according a source close to the investigation.

The investigation in question involves allegations of free health care provided to elected and appointed current and former county officials, and others.

All of whom had health insurance coverage at the time.

Agents for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have reportedly been looking into what procedures were performed, how much was paid, if any, and whether or not medical staff was pressured to provide treatment.

The source says action by the U.S. Department of Justice is expected.
