Let them eat cake!

That was the response by three San Bernardino County supervisors during a redistricting meeting on Tuesday.

Yes, arrogance was in full swing courtesy of Supes Josie Gonzales, Gary Ovitt and Janice Rutherford.

Rutherford, someone not known for her political commonsense, remains insistent on taking additional mountain communities into her 2nd District.

Even if the residents in question don’t like her and want to remain in the 3rd District.

Rutherford, along with allies Gonzales and Ovitt on a 3-2 vote tentatively gave the green light to a new supervisorial district map that gives Rutherford additional mountain communities.

Supervisors Neil Derry and Brad Mitzelfelt dissented.

The discussion amongst the three supervisors was too well scripted. One couldn’t help thinking about a Brown Act violation during the whole ordeal.

Sources say Rutherford, a Mormon, wants more white upper-class folks in her mostly affluent district.

Her reason? Fundraising!

Yep, Rutherford looks at the Lake Arrowhead to Running Springs area as nothing more than a cash cow for her sure to be hotly contested reelection bid in 2014.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if the some 25,000 or so voters she intends to incorporate into her district actually serve her up to a challenger?

Just a thought……
