The latest disclosure filings by San Bernardino County’s public employee unions reflects a continued build-up of political action money from last years levels.
County unions now sit on more than $2 million in money designated for political activity.
The big question is will the unions deploy their resources in the dispute with county supervisors over Chief Executive Officer Greg Devereaux’s attempt to slash wages and benefits?
The political action committee balances of the county’s top union’s is as follows:
San Bernardino County Safety Employees Benefit Association (SEBA) $ 839,165 San Bernardino Public Employees Association (SBPEA) $ 697,470 San Bernardino County Public Attorneys Association (SBCPAA) $ 518,982 San Bernardino County Professional Fighters Local 935 $ 32,780 Total $2,088,399

Wait, firefighters only have 33k in their war chest”? Do they have something else up their sleeves? I know my PAC money hasn’t paid for squat.
You must be an SBPEA member!
Recently I found out that the County hasn’t updated the San Bernardino County Peace Officers Memorials in several years. I believe that there are at least two peace officers who have died in the line of duty since the last update and their names are yet to be added to the three memorials. It would seem that with war chests like these the law enforcement PACS could donate a few thousand dollars to keep the memorials current without having a major impact on the members. I think it is time to show a little leadership. The memorials are the property of the County and they were to be supervised by the Sheriff. I know that budgets are tight but there always seems to be enough money for politics.
Just someone who thinks the sun doesn’t rise from a firefighters ass.
Deveraux and Ovitt are toast….they just dont know it yet. but they will!
mitzelfelt is toast to and he knows it. traci dean for supervisor and hopefully she can shut down iepolitics.
