UPLAND – The former mayor’s personal attorney has resigned from his post on the Upland Planning Commission.

Robert Schauer sent a letter of resignation to City Hall on Monday.

“My term is going to be up next year, and I’m a little tired of it,” Schauer said. “I’m so busy with court stuff, with all my work and everything like that – it’s just bogging me down.”

Schauer, who was appointed to the commission by his client, former Mayor John Pomierski, said his resignation has nothing to do with the federal corruption charges filed against Pomierski in March.
