UPLAND – Ballots for the city’s special election to fill a council seat will be sent to residents beginning today.

The election to fill a vacancy on the City Council will be an all-mail election, and residents should expect to receive their ballots by the end of the week.

There will not be any polling places.

All ballots must be received by the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters by 8 p.m. Aug. 30 in order to be counted.

The registrar expects to have the majority of the election results by about 8:30 p.m., said Kathi Payne, communications manager for the registrar.

As ballots begin to flow into the Registrar’s Office, staff can begin processing the ballots.
