SAN BERNARDINO – After a long wait, the San Bernardino City Unified School District Board of Education named the district’s new interim superintendent – Richard Bray.

The school board started its meeting Tuesday with two hours in closed session, where members discussed the appointment. Bray worked in Tustin Unified School District for 43 years before retiring as superintendent in June.

Bray thanked the Board of Education for selecting him and said he looks forward to meeting district employees this week.

District spokeswoman Linda Bardere said the Board of Education looked at three candidates for the interim superintendent job.
