Former State Assemblyman and San Bernardino Community College Board Trustee John Longville (D-San Bernardino), in an effort to hit his only real opponent, Robert Jenkins, took a shot using some of his past supporters in a campaign mailer last week.

Longville, who is also a former mayor of Rialto, is now desperately seeking to fill the vacant seat on the San Bernardino City Council.

A vacancy created by the resignation of Jason Desjardins.

Longville, in a campaign mailer targeting democrats in the city’s second ward, eloquently takes shots at former Deputy Sheriff’s union president Jim Erwin, former county supervisor Bill Postmus, Rancho Cucamonga Developer Jeff Burum and others.

It’s interesting how Longville wants his readers to believe he never knew any of the people he is using to attack Jenkins.

I guess Longville’s hunger to re-emerge in politics after his embarassing loss to Fifth District Supervisor Joise Gonzales is growing.

If Jenkins were smart, he would hit Longville for the heavy support he received in his failed bid for county supervisors, from those he now attacks.

There is likely people out there willing to fund it.

It should also be noted Longville is running with the support of San Bernardino Mayor Pat Morris.

Go figure!
