ONTARIO – The Chaffey Joint Union High School District school board adopted a 2011-12 budget that doesn’t anticipate any reduction that would affect students.

District officials said the budget is more stable than it has been in from the past, but spending is still down from previous years.

“Funding for children is still not being addressed in the state budget. We’re still operating on less dollars than we were back in 2007-08 school year,” said Don Bertucci, the assistant superintendent of business services.

According to the budget presented last week, the district would spend $6,020 per student, $668 less than in 2007-08.

Board member Charles Uhalley said such cuts have allowed the district to remain fiscally solvent.
