Riverside County grew by 1.7 percent during 2010, the highest rate of any California county, according to new estimates from the state Department of Finance.

The county population increased from 2.18 million in January 2010 to an estimated 2.22 million in January 2011.

San Bernardino County grew by 0.9 percent, just above the state average. The county population increased from 2.03 million to 2.05 million.
