San Bernardino County Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt wants to give transportation planners in the nation’s biggest county a higher profile.

Mitzelfelt, chairman of San Bernardino Associated Governments, told fellow commissioners on Wednesday he is scheduling a general assembly for the agency for June, so the board can tout its accomplishments and set goals for the next 12 months.

“We really don’t have the clout we would like to have,” Mitzelfelt said.

In addition to some in-house moves, the assembly gives SANBAG a chance to “Increase the visibility of this organization,” which he said suffers because it does not have the presence of its neighbors.
