InlandPolitics.com has learned the judicial officer, who abruptly dismissed a lawsuit filed against San Bernardino County District Attorney Michael Ramos, has been reassigned effective Monday, March 28, 2011.

Judge Frank Gafkowski, Jr., who inexplicably dismissed the case filed by a former employee and mistress of Ramos, has now been reassigned to the Joshua Tree District of the Superior Court.

The dismissal in question occurred less than 24-hours after Gafkowski released a written tentative ruling favorable to plaintiff Cheryl Ristow.

Ristow, a former District Attorney Investigative Technician, alleges she was retaliated against by District Attorney management after she refused to lie about her past relationship with Ramos.

The Gafkowski reassignment was confirmed by court personnel via telephone Friday.

Gafkowski is designated as an ‘assigned’ judge. Meaning he is retired and sitting on assignment hearing extra cases on a daily Per Diem rate.

Slated to take the place of Gafkowski in Department S-37 is Judge John Vander Feer.
