Who’s going to replace the Upland mayor who stepped down last week with almost two years left in his term?

On Tuesday, the City Council will discuss the options now that John “JP” Pomierski has resigned. The council, led by interim Mayor Brendan Brandt, has 60 days to decide whether to appoint someone or hold a special election.

This week, the Daily Bulletin will closely follow the developments coming out of Upland as well as the following stories.

The Chino Valley Unified School District board faces some tough decisions when it meets on Thursday. The cash-strapped district is looking to slash nearly $2 million from its budget. It recently found about $50,000 to cut, but it’s not nearly close to filling the gap.
