Well it’s been another month and a name is still conspicuously missing from San Bernardino County retirement rolls.

Ruth E. Stringer, the allegedly retired county counsel, seems to be once again missing.

It would appear Stringer still remains on active county payroll charging vacation leave for the past twelve weeks.

The cost to county taxpayers?

Another $15,382.00.

While Stringer has been allowed to sit on vacation leave burning 480 hours of accrued time, she will have also added an additional 139.04 hours of vacation, compensatory and sick leave to her massive total.

The value is set at $110.63 per hour. Stringer’s final rate of pay.

That’s unless the county prohibited her from doing so prior to her departure from the Government Center.

What a deal!

It’ll be interesting to see if Stringer pulls the plug before April 1, 2011.

It’s the date county county pensioners of record are to receive a 1.5% cost-of-living-adjustment.
