Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger remains a big supporter of the $787 billion federal stimulus legislation passed by Congress in early 2009.
But many of the governor’s fellow Republicans in Congress, including members of the California delegation, don’t share his enthusiasm.
Earlier this month, Rep. Jerry Lewis, R-Redlands, introduced a measure to pull back $12 billion in unallocated stimulus money, including billions for high-speed rail, solar fields and other projects in California.
Schwarzenegger hasn’t contacted Lewis, Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Bakersfield, or other leaders of the anti-stimulus effort, spokesman Aaron McLear said Tuesday morning.
