UPLAND – The City Council on Monday will consider preventing another medical marijuana cooperative from opening within city limits.
The city denied a business license in June to Route 66 Nursery at 1743 W. Foothill Blvd. license.
The city’s zoning code prohibits cooperatives.
The council will consider an appeal by the business at a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 460 N. Euclid Ave.
“We made a commitment to close them down because it’s not legal in Upland, and we’ll continue to do that,” Councilman Tom Thomas said.
The city has been fighting several cooperatives in the city over the past few months.
G3 Holistic is appealing a decision by a judge at West Valley Superior Court in Rancho Cucamonga to grant the city a preliminary injunction that shut down the co-op and three others.
