San Bernardino voters gave the nod to city attorney Jim Penman on Tuesday night by overwhelmingly rejecting Measure C.

Measure C would have converted the positions of city attorney, city clerk, and city treasurer from elective office to council appointed.

The defeat is seen as a rebuke to two-term Mayor Patrick Morris.

If passed, the measure would have been used to show Penman the door. But San Bernardino residents, as usual, had the final say.

Sixty-four percent of voters said ‘no’.

The whole ordeal was just a huge waste of money (about $100,000), which fueled an ego driven contest.

It’s too much to ask the children to play nice.

So it’s going to be interesting to see the new chapter in this ongoing saga unfold.
