The race between democrat Kamala Harris and republican Steve Cooley, two district attorneys, may take several days to decide.
The two are now currently separated by just 9,030 votes, now that Riverside County has updated its totals this afternoon.
Cooley has cut more than 24,000 off Harris’ lead since this morning.
With an estimated 1.6 million absentee and provisional ballots still to be counted, the contest is clearly up in the air.
It should be noted that Cooley lead Harris by a substantial margin among absentee voters, while Harris beat Cooley in the election day vote.
