This evenings early election results so far have a good night in store for republicans, who are slated to take control of the U.S. House of Representatives and cut democrats to a narrow majority in the U.S. Senate.
Republicans will also take over a majority of statehouse governorships.
A dramatic drop in democratic turnout in California leaves the races for Governor and U.S. Senate uncertain at this hour.
