Rep. Joe Baca has been named one of the most influential Latinos in the United States by Latino Leaders magazine.
Baca, D-San Bernardino, said he was humbled by the listing “and energized to continue my work for the constituents of the 43rd Congressional District and struggling Americans everywhere.”
According to the magazine, he was chosen because “during the 111th congressional session, Baca was lead sponsor of the PROUD Act, which would expedite the path to citizenship to immigrant high school graduates.”
The bill is included in H.R. 4321, a comprehensive immigration reform bill, which is in committee.
