When somebody writes anything nice about him, his campaign goes on defensive and blames Jessica and says it was done to hurt Morrell.
What does THAT say about Paul Chabot and his nut job followers? That they don't genuinely believe anybody could like or respect him enough... so when anybody ever says anything nice-- it can't possibly be true and is from an opponent's campaign. Not sure whether to laugh or feel kind of sad for the guy.

The most amusing part of this article and preceding comments is the fact that nobody even believes Chabot is a contender in this race. The City of Fontana has collected Development Mitigation fees for new development for years and continues to do so. In the first year after the new Measure I was passed and the new fees were in place, Fontana collected the highest amount of any City in the region ... something like $9 million.
Unfortunately a project like the Duncan Canyon / I-15 is mostly funded through Development Mitigation fees ... fees that will be collected AFTER the interchange is completed. So SANBAG allows cities to "loan" redevelopment funds to their Nexus mitigation fee program to put in the improvements that will stimulate the next wave of development. Hope that helps you better understand the issue of cash flow to deliver multi-million dollar projects. Class dismissed.

Little Stevie … please comment on things you have knowledge about because you clearly have no clue what you’re speaking about here. Just because you can make ends meet this budget cycle without having to implement the kind of deep cuts that are going to be happening all over at the County at just about every municipality in the IE, doesn't mean that you are going to be so lucky next year at the rate you folks are spending. Why don't you tell the people about the transportation development impact fees that are collected from developers to mitigate the City's share of the cost of regional transportation improvements such as for major corridors, interchanges and grade separations? Fontana is planning on using RDA tax increment funding to pay for the local share for these types of improvements, thereby relieving the developers of these substantial costs while attracting "redevelopment". Just because B,B &K and SANBAG say it's ok to put these transportation fee debts on the backs of the taxpayers instead of having the developers pay doesn't make it right. And what's the deal with the disappearing bonded indebtedness "at the end of the term" to the tune of over $300M of what Fontana's racked-up to this point, even before the new SWIP RDA Amendment gets factored into the equation? Q: What is Redevelopment? A: Developers on Welfare.

Mayor Mark, you really have a three ring circus going on over there at Fontucky, might help everyone involved out if you just knew when to keep it shut! One way is to show how whacked these comments are and the information coming from the other campaigns. You better check your records on the voting to adjust council salaries ... I abstained because I had an obvious conflict if I voted for it. Regardless, everyone knows the issue of "council salaries" is a red herring ... if you account for the hours local elected officials put into their office, the amount of contributions they make to local non-profits, they are somewhere near minimum wage.
As for taxing "us" folks in the unincorporated areas to improve City Hall, obviously you have no clue how taxes are passed ... by a vote of the people. Nobody who was annexed has had ANY NEW TAXES imposed on them or voted on. Let me put it another way that might be simpler -- you're lying!
In case you can't read, the times of the postings are over an hour and a half apart. When I checked at 3:20, my prior post did not appear so I re-wrote what I posted. You might actually note that they aren't the same cut and paste commentary.
Thanks for worrying about what I do with my time. Enjoy scrambling for more misinformation and lies.

I have plenty of time to help my colleague. Right. Doesn't the mayor of a city have anything better to do than sit on a blog on a saturday night? You know, like helping your fellow council member campaign on the city dime?

Coming from the mouth of someone who votes to raise his own salary by double, then taxes the community to remodel city hall during a recession.

Right. isPermaLink="false">http://inlandpolitics.com/blog/?p=7451#comment-17069

Well it's clear from the mailer that the Morrell campaign didn't do their homework. Acquanetta hasn't done anything regarding illegal immigration impacts for local government?? Then why are the likes of Gil Navarro, Steve Figueroa, Raul Wilson, and Edgar Montes attacking her and the City. Go to our latest councilmeeting to witness for yourself the disgusting attack by Gil Navarro starting at the 56:20 mark of the meeting (http://video.fontana.org/ClientWebApp/Fontana/Video.aspx?VideoId=6651dadf-6117-45e1-98b0-df1b96f2e3bf&Index=5 ) -- click on Public Communications. Especially disgraceful was the comment from Navarro that regardless of what Acquanetta does, she'll never be a white Republican. Well I guess regardless of what Gil does, he'll never be a respected elected official.
Not only has Acquanetta been very outspoken about the impacts of illegal immigration on public safety and employment, she and the entire city council put in place measures (Conditions of Approval) to ensure that our Home Improvement centers (Home Depot & Lowes) didn't turn into day-laborer camps (the kind that Kurth is coming under attack). We refused to call for the County to halt their 287(g) cooperation with ICE. We have active DUI and license checkpoints to increase the safety in our community. But don't let facts get in the way of this campaign.
Then there were the other attacks that clearly demonstrate that Morrell has never held public office in a local community. Sewer rates in Fontana increased Mr. Morrell because we are part of the IEUA and we were obligated to pass through THEIR cost increases.
Then there's the nonsense about taxes on new homes... they're called DEVELOPMENT MITIGATION FEES to ensure that DEVELOPERS pay for the impacts of growth on the community. This way new residents pay with NO NEW TAXES on existing residents.
Then there's the reference to the $8.2 million deficit in Fontana. Well guess what the mailer didn't mention?? We balanced the budget through across the board cuts, concessions from our employees, and NO NEW TAXES. In fact, during Acquanetta's terms on the Council, we have been able to ELIMINATE OUR UTILITY TAX while continuing to improve services to our residents. Sounds like Acquanetta is the perfect choice to send to Sacramento to fix a deficit.

Well it’s clear from the mailer that the Morrell campaign didn’t do their homework. isPermaLink="false">http://inlandpolitics.com/blog/?p=7451#comment-17065

Well according to the mailer sent by Mr. Morrell, Fontana has done nothing that impacts illegal immigrants?? Then why is Gil Navarro, Steve Figueroa, Raul Wilson, and Edgar Montes coming to City Council meetings to protest our community? Why is ACORN accusing the city of racial profiling? The fact is that both the Morrell mailer and the (w)activists attacking the City are wrong.
The City council has taken actions to forbid day-laborer activities around our home improvement centers. We specifically put in place conditions of approval that prevented loitering in the parking lot, we specifically precluded a "day-laborer" room or facility (something Kurth is being attacked for supporting), and Councilwoman Warren has been very vocal about the impacts of illegal immigration on employment. So much so that Gil Navarro unleashed a hateful attack against the Councilwoman at our last meeting (http://video.fontana.org/ClientWebApp/Fontana/Video.aspx?VideoId=6651dadf-6117-45e1-98b0-df1b96f2e3bf&Index=5) ... go to the 56:20 mark of the meeting to watch the verbal assault.
Unfortunately Mr. Morrell has never held elected office at the local level and doesn't understand what we can and can't do. His mailer is also further evidence that he fails to understand what local government does to deal with the impacts of growth. First thing you do is place development mitigation fees so that DEVELOPERS pay for facilities required by the growth. Cities also have to raise "pass through" fees like sewer rates to other agencies (like IEUA). Once again, he would understand that if he held a local elected position.
Last thing his mailer fails to mention is that Fontana has balanced that $8.2 million deficit through cost cutting -- NO NEW TAXES. So Acquanetta Warren would be the best person to send to Sacramento ... she dealt with a 10% cut in spending this year in order to balance the budget. NO NEW TAXES. In fact, while Acquanetta was on our city council, we were able to wean ourselves off of the Utility Users Tax.

Well according to the mailer sent by Mr. Morrell, Fontana has done nothing that impacts illegal immigrants?? You have to attack, point out your strengths and others weaknesses. The elections of 2010 will be known as a time when voters threw out the elected officials who got us all in to this mess and put some fresh faces in to office. That is why Mike has gained such momentum and that is why he should be elected on June 8. Lord knows Kurth's people have already thrown vicious and untrue lies at the voters about Mike, payback is...well you know the word Jessica.
I do not see the connection between calling somebody weak on immigration and being racist. And as far as being the highest ranking...african american....elected...republican...any other categories we have to name? I think she is the only black republican elected in the inland valley.
Kurth camp...you're showing the fear...personally I love it, I can't wait to have Mike representing me in Sacramento.

I don’t see any desperation, this is how it works when you’re running against Don Kurth. Just wanted to correct the record. I am actually based in San Diego and I also never had anything to do with Jack Abramoff. I also think it is strange that you are attacking a consultant.
Regardless, I hope you have nice Memorial Day weekend.

Talk about politics as usual. You're the highest offender in the court of political law. Dirty, filthy, unethical, typical I.E. politics.
Morrell is a good man, his facts in the comparison piece are accurate, which you can check per the council minutes of each politician.
How about Kurth's piece accusing Morrell of foreclosing on an elderly couple? You do know only a BANK can foreclose, don't you? Campaign geniuses. You do realize that's defamation of character, don't you? Campaign geniuses.
