It looks like a June primary reelection win maybe on the rocks for Second District County Supervisor Paul Biane.
Biane who is seeking his third term on the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors seems to have a lot of challengers these days.
Chaffey Joint Union High School District trustee Arthur Bustamonte filed to run against Biane yesterday.
Bustamonte joins Fontana City Councilwoman Janice Rutherford, Newspaper publisher Dennis Labadie, and Rim of the World school board trustee Peter Markovich, who have all officially filed to unseat Biane.
With now a total of five candidates including Biane, the likelihood of any candidate securing greater than 50% of the vote would be very difficult, and also increase the cost for Biane and Rutherford.
In a bad economy campaign dollars are considered precious, since donors are less open with their pocket books.
Absent charges against Biane, if Rutherford can raise enough money she could present a solid challenge.
