The biggest share of all that cash, $250,000, went to the union representing San Bernardino County sheriff ’s deputies, the Press-Enterprise said. What, do you suppose, does a labor union representing sheriff’s deputies want with $250,000 in campaign cash? To re-elect the current sheriff? Or to contribute to supervisor campaigns so they’ll receive favorable treatment when they seek higher pay, shorter hours and more bennies for their members? All of the above, no doubt.
The paper has a good question.
I have the answer, elect Paul Schrader for Sheriff of San Bernardino County.
It's not the money that wins elections, but votes. I will be your next Sheriff.

In the 2008 election cycle, according to the Riverside Press-Enterprise, Colonies Partners donated more than $720,000 to six political action committees, most of them involved in San Bernardino County politics.
