Sources tell InlandPolitics Fontana City Councilwoman Janice Rutherford will likely challenge Second District Supervisor Paul Biane for his seat on the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors.
Rutherford took out nomination papers in mid-February and who has recently become outspoken against Biane and county government has until 5 P.M. Friday to file.
If Rutherford has any chance at unseating Biane she will need either charges against Biane or a hefty bankroll from Lewis Operating Company and affiliates.
So far only newspaper publisher/editor Dennis Labadie has filed as a challenger.

Financial gain, not public policy, is the real rationale for Rutherford’s interest in running for Supervisor. Rutherford is lifelong political staffer whose boss is termed out. She needs to find a new public sector job so she can continue sucking at the taxpayer trough.
I am willing to bet this will be a no holds barred fight. I cannot imagine that many people in this valley will not see this for what it is, a Lewis Company power grap, and rise up gainst her and them. It will be entertaining at the very least.
Biane will be fine, all this just needs to blow over. And the comments about Janice are true. Bill Leonard is termed out, she needs a new job. She should stick to running the Fontana City Council amok with Warren.

City of Fontana Council Member Janice Rutherford’s battle will be her hard line membership in the Mormon Church, same as it will be for
Mitt Romney in 2012. Janice Rutherford should be publicly asked if she believes in the teachings of the Mormon faith, aka: The Church of Jesus Christ, of latter day saints. Mormon’s believe that American Indians are actually Israelites, as that is what their Prophet Joseph Smith writings claimed. Although DNA testing has rebuked such nonsense, they still teach this to be true.
The Mormon Church did not publicly acknowledge African Americans, Asians, or Hispanics as actual human beings until 1978. Mormon’s are taught minorities are non-human, and without souls, as God, or Eloheem as they call him, cursed them with dark skin. This was punishment for there forefathers having disobeyed Eloheem in heaven prior to being sent to earth. Mormon’s are taught they are in fact God’s themselves, and upon death, will assume God like status over their own planet, and that they will populate their own planet via sexual encounters with persons worthy of their choosing.
The U.S. Govt. over the years has forced the Mormon Church to publicly change their position on many issues, or lose their tax exempt status; such as multiple wives, not marrying outside of the white race, as what took place in 1978 on the advisement of Jimmy Carter. It is a racist, cult like organization that seeks positions of political power and authority to control their agenda, and those that would dare oppose them. The Church changes its positions like the weather to accommodate their political agenda. You can also count on their political views to change just as often.
Notice to the press and citizen’s of Fontana: Ask Council Member Rutherford what her belief is as to the origin of the Black race?

Anyone to get Biane out of office is OK in my book. We need more women in office, look at Josie!

I’d much rather look at Janice than Biane any day.
Janice has said that god has spoken to her and asked her to run. What she did not understand is that he was asking her to run, but what he meant was like jog, as in exercise, as in put down the fork, you know step away from the table. God wants you to be healthy not use him for an excuse to “feed” your own ego.

I’ve observed Janice Rutherford for many, many years and listened very carefully. Her and I believe in a different God but she does make sound judgments and only cares for doing what’s right in any situation. And she can’t be bought off even if she takes funds from a developer! So what if she’s being termed out of a job. Any one would look for another job your qualified for! Duh!
Rutherford is more qualified and a BETTER PERSON AND LEADER than 95% of the west end elected officials. The County would be lucky to have her elected to represent that district.

What you have observed, and now expressed of Fontana City Council Member Janice Rutherford could very well be true. Let’s say they are. The different God as you mention that Janice Rutherford worships wears a pointed white hood. Those in power that have racist, religiously based beliefs don’t have to be bought off to be corrupt. Their racial bias, discrimination and hatred comes free of charge. The most dangerous racism is not overt. It is subtle, and disguises itself in behavior that appears sound, and with judgment and caring that appears right. It can go undetected for years. All incumbents need to be removed. Including Biane. Many overt former members of the KKK, Aryan Nation, and Neo-Nazi’s have gone back underground and found a new home within the Mormon Church. None of them deserve our vote, and the camouflage of racism within religious organizations cannot be tolerated. Rev. Wright of Chicago showed the nation, and the world that very thing.

Thanks RC Voter 2, maybe you can explain why Biane pressured the city staff into approving that butt ugly shopping center on the S/W corner of Vinyard and Foothill for his “boyfriend”. Being gay is one thing. Doing unethical things for your lover is quite another.
Well, all is hearsay until proven. As a fifth floor staffer, never heard about Mr. Biane being gay or bi. My impression is that he has always done a very good job representing the consitutents of the Second District. I feel like much of this drama is directed towards him for him being the whistleblower for Mr. Postmus. Now, like any human being or elected official, Mr. Biane is NOT perfect, and perhaps may not always make what you deem to be the most ethical decisions. Neither has Janice. She is a nice lady, but no doubt, like a wolf to an injured lamb, she is taking advantage of this situation and the public’s perception thereof.
Remember: Innocent until proven guilty. We can’t continue to throw people out based on rumors and hearsay. Just look at what happened in the Third District, and what is even happening now. When people feel threatened by you, as many do by Mr. Derry now for all this proposed reforms, you get attacked. Like most things in life, it is all personal.
RC Voter 2, Biane wasn’t the real whistleblower. In the beginning Erwin was. He started the Grand Jury investigation into the Assessor’s Office. Erwin went to the DA’s Office and gave a lengthy statement about what was going on in the Assessor’s Office. Erwin is the one who testified before the Grand Jury three times. Erwin is the one that gave the information that led to Adam Aleman’s arrest. Erwin is the one who provided most of the information in the Hueston report. Erwin is the one that provided the information about Biane and his misuse of public funds. Don’t be naive. Biane is the one who pushed for all of the huge increases in salary and benefits for the Board. Biane is the one who has pushed greed to new heights. An election is not about proof beyond a reasonable doubt. That is the standard in the courts. Elections are about making changes if things are not going well. And I think it is obvious that things are not going well.

More than a few sources who are tired of their bosses being a crook and are telling others.
But like DA Insider has said, this is not a court room. BE glad it’s not, because you might hear far less in a courtroom since many things NEVER get before a jury.
And of course you don’t think Joe Nelson or his boss is going to tell the other side of the story.
