Ashburn
State Senator Roy Ashburn (R-Bakersfield) who was arrested for driving under the influence after leaving a gay night club in Sacramento last week while appearing on a local Bakersfield radio station this morning that he is in fact gay.
Ashburn, a divorced father of four is currently on personal leave from the California Senate.
Ashburn had previously announced he was leaving politics weeks before his arrest.

Maybe they could all open a bar.

What next, a Democratic speaker that doesn’t own a Prius and demands a private, gas guzzling 757 to fly her across the CONUS?
You know what, there must be a class for freshman politicos first arriving in office called, “How to take advantage of your constituents w/o them finding out” with all this silliness going on.
He should legally have to change his name to Assburn.

Pretty sure Brulte and Biane aren’t gay, but the real shame here is that anyone in elected office would feel compelled to hide his (or her) sexual orientation. It puts Ashburn’s anti-gay rights votes in a new light, though. Senator Ashburn should be ashamed of those votes, but not of being gay.
I don’t care if he is gay or sleeps with dalmations. I do care that he was a gay basher in terms of voting. How sad it must be to have to live your life so full of fear of who you are.
Anon. You obviously are not an “insider”. Brulte lives with his “little friend” in a gated community in North Fontana. Biane, well ask him about Gil Rodriquez, jr. The two hang out together in gay bars. Ramos knows! He has been having his investigators dig up dirt on gays so he can use it to twist them into testifying. This whole thing is going to get real ugly real soon.
Wrecks II: I guess I’m not an insider, but I have met several of Brulte’s girlfriends, which is where I got my assumption. As for Biane, well, I only know he’s married, but maybe I’m being naive. Then again, going to a gay bar (for example, Oasis) doesn’t make someone gay. As you say, though: who cares?
