A High Desert developer tied to two local political action committees related to an ongoing corruption investigation by the San Bernardino County District Attorney was arrested this morning on two counts of perjury.
John DeFazio was arrested by District Attorney investigators this morning. His bail is set at $50,000.
The arrest comes just six days after DeFazio filed a claim against the county and District Attorney Michael Ramos.
Causes of action listed in the claim include violation of civil rights, interefence with Defazio’s business, defamation, and slander.
The filing of a claim is a precursor to the filing of a lawsuit.
The arrest also comes on the heels of Ramos announcing his ideas for reforms to put county supervisors power in check.

Another fine example of bad timing for Ramos.
Ramos is going to spread these arrests out over a period of weeks and make big announcements on a number of issues to bolster his chance for re-election.
