The first action I've heard of: Flex (9/80) schedules have been discontinued for department heads. All department heads are now required to work 5 days a week.
I'm sure he's done other things already that we haven't heard of yet.

Change has already begun, and Mr. Deveraux hasn’t officially landed yet. Since his little oversight issue on his trip back east with Biane, Devereaux needs to take care of business on more fronts than he has ever faced before.
Because right now, based on that little oversight and what others have said, it would appear he might just be another sock puppet for someone.
His actions must be loud and clear to ALL departments and their managers, including elected officials. Firing a few would set the tone for the others who are on the fence on what they should be doing.
THE corruption and incompetence stops now. And the public needs to see it,and leaves little doubt as to his position.
It's time to see how much sand this guy really has.

The CAO has one choice when he comes on board, hit the ground running and take no prisoners in anything he does.

As I read the budget documents on the county website the details of the pending shortfall are there The CAO office just needed to read rather than rubber stamp and be surprised. Of course then they could not just "react" rather than be proactive.

maybe the new people will be able to clear up the confusion on Land Use Services budget.
