The 2010 San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors meeting calendar is posted to the county’s website. Now that our board members have achieved their full 50-percent raise, they are offsetting it by only showing up for public board meetings slightly more than 50 percent of the time. The board is dark 25 out of 52 weeks this year.
No wonder Ruth Stringer and Dean Arabatzis haven’t been fired. It’s hard to fire someone for doing something one is doing oneself.
I would suggest this proves that a part-time Board of Supervisors would be more than appropriate. These people need to work for a living and have less time to live off of our dime. With benefits they are making well over $250,000 a year. For what?

Give them a break, they are still at work more than Ramos is. The phantom doesn’t have enough energy to work because he is so exhausted by his extra curricular activities. Poor boy. Actually we are better off when they are not working. At least they can’t mess things up that way.
I’ve noticed how the Supervisors are not at the board meetings as much as they used to. We need to speak up on this at the Feb.9th meeting.
I have no problem with The Board being dark 50% of the year, but the fact that they are AFTER GIVING THEMSELVES A RAISE WHILE ALSO LOOKING FOR WAYS TO CUT COSTS is crap…just plain crap.
They just combined the TTC and ACR, eliminating 10 positions (4 of which were not vacant, according to David Wert) in hopes of saving 1 million dollars. We have a projected 80 to 90 million dollar shortfall. 1 million is a little more than 1% of that, but, hey, they’re doing such a great job that they deserve a raise. It’s crap, and until the citizens of San Bernardino County start to care in larger numbers, the crap will keep on, a-flowin’.
We dismantle one Good Old Boys network, just to watch a new one rise from the ashes. Will our new CAO last as long as Uffer did, or will he go the way of Wally Hill? That depends on how willing he is to do the will of The Board.
And would someone, for the love of God, please find a way to stop E.T. Snell from showing up at Board meetings? All he does is make the rest of us look like cooks.
