With a federal "designation" of a recovery zone, that couldn't be a real boost to the rest of the community's property values...almost sounds like ground-zero for an economic bomb drop. With the developers standing to get any real benefit from this welfare "deal", don't you guys already owe the local big boyz after they put their marker down on the New Model Colony by paying those "advanced fees"? So you guys are on the hook for funding infrastructure improvements in the NMC, there's your project. Didn't these same local big boyz put their markers in the war chests of the IE politicians, especially Gary O., and didn't he even get a house on Euclid out of the deal? Chairman O., how does it feel to live at ground-zero of an economic recovery zone, maybe you and the Devil can rideshare to County Government Center when you make him CAO? Don't tell me, Greg wants to get the entire County designated for welfare financing? The Devil's developer mentality with public funds is apparently effecting the City's bottom-line, he's definitely figured out that redevelopment is just development on welfare, and now he wants to take it to the next (County) level. I shudder to think where this County is headed if this scenario comes to fruition.
