Heading into an election year, the San Bernardino County GOP is essentially broke.
New state reports show that the county’s Republican Central Committee did not raise any money from October through December and received just $3,687 in in-kind contributions in the form of free office space. The party spent money only on bookkeeping services.
It begins 2010 — when races for several statewide and legislative seats will be on county voters’ ballots — with only $1,530 cash on hand.
The San Bernardino party has been in turmoil in recent years, beset by leadership turnover, plummeting voter registration and, as the latest reports indicate, paltry fundraising.

What a joke. Who is in charge of this group? I wonder who their treasurer is and what exactly does he do?
This has to be one of the worst GOP organizations in the Country. They are relying on the County Supervisors to lead their fundraising – that should say it all.
Gee…Maybe Ovitt or Baine could funnel some of the funds they got from the Burnum/Colonies deal/payoff…jim didn’t their PAC’s each get about $100,000 about six months after the settelment…and of course you got a watch…and lots of grief
Truthseeker, you left out Mitzelfelt’s part. He gave Burum’s non-profit $650,000 (of County taxpayer money) in 2007/08 to get Burum to stay out of Brad’s 2008 election and/or possible payback for the deal with Postmus a couple years earlier.
All good reasons why the Republican party is non-existent in the IE.
