The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) has launched an investigation into San Bernardino County District Attorney Michael A. Ramos for failing to report a $10,000 payment to his wife for working on his political campaign.
Ramos reported the payment on his campaign finance forms in 2008, but not on a state financial-disclosure document known as a Form 700. His campaign consultant, Dave Ellis, said Ramos believed the income was exempt from disclosure under state reporting guidelines.
